The Earthquake in Morocco on September 8th, 2023 was unlike any seen in the region in over a century. Rarely are earthquakes and aftershocks of this magnitude seen in Morocco and the impact was immense.
Thousands were lost, killed, trapped, injured, and left homeless, over 300,000 people affected.
Providing assistance in the area has been limited in the days following the disaster. Disaster Aid Canada has been in touch with our Disaster Aid International partners to ensure the aid we are able to provide will get to those who need it most. We have partnered with Disaster Aid UK & Ireland, as we did in response to the Turkey Earthquake earlier this year. Our efforts will be focused on future re-building efforts and any additional relief we can help provide.
