International Sphere, and UNOCHA standards/guidelines require a minimum of 3.5 square metres of covered shelter per person. Our tent at approximately 24.4 square metres is rated for 7 people.
Our separate living area floor can be removed and used as a tarp (additional 10 square meters), providing cover for another 2.85 people.
The specifications of our tent are as follows:
- Material: Oxford polyester 210D ripstop 300D 5mm (DAC tents sent to Pakistan are Oxford polyester 210D )
- DACís tent waterproofing is 4000MM
- Our tent has a 50 UV protection
- Silver coated and fire retardant CPAI-84
The tension on the fiberglass poles of the Disaster Aid International tent is minimal because they are connected to the steel poles using fittings which reduces stress on the fiberglass poles in extreme heat. Additionally the steel poles can be replaced with any straight wooden, metal, or any other material pole. The DAI tent uses guylines in the upper and lower sections of each steel pole.
Ventilation: Many relief tents become unbearably hot inside during the day. That is why the DAI tent has, in addition to the four vents in the corners, three windows with mosquito netting that can be sealed, two side doors with mosquito netting and canopies that can be sealed, and the front wall has the main door with mosquito netting and canopy that can be sealed as well.
We invite you to take a look at the pictures of our tents in Pakistan in our photo gallery.
